RIO DE JANEIRO, Nov. 8 (Xinhua) -- Ronaldo scored to help Corinthians win 2-0 over Santo Andre on Sunday in the 34th round of the Brazilian Soccer Championship.

Ronaldo scored the game's first goal in the 36th minute, driving the local fans crazy.

The "Phenomenon" struck again in the 76th minute. Creeping into the Santo Andre backfield, Ronaldo rolled the ball off to a cutting Dentinho who blew past the defender and slid the ball under a diving Santo Andre goalkeeper Neneca.

Ronaldo scored his 22nd goal with Corinthians this year. 11 of those goals were during the Brazilian Championship. The international soccer star had promised to score 30 goals during his first year with Corinthians. With only four games remaining in this year's Brazilian Championship, the striker needs to score two goals per-match.

Sunday's victory improves Corinthians' standing to 8th place with 49 points. The team has almost guaranteed their booth for the2010 South American Cup.
