SRINAGAR, India-controlled Kashmir, Nov. 8 (Xinhua) -- An Indian army officer was killed and two troopers were injured Sunday in a "mysterious bomb blast" near line-of control (LoC) in India-controlled Kashmir, defense officials said.

    The incident took place around 07:00 am local time in Poonch sector 250 km northwest of Jammu, the winter capital of India-controlled Kashmir.

    "Early morning when the troopers were returning from the patrol, it was hit by a bomb blast that left three soldiers including a Junior Commissioned Officer (JCO) injured. Though they were rushed to the hospital immediately but the JCO succumbed to his injuries. The other two soldiers are injured and undergoing treatment," said defense spokesperson Jammu, Lt. Col. Biplab Nath over the telephone.

    Nath said the investigations are going on to ascertain the actual details.

    Initial reports suggest that a blast took place but inquiry is in process to know what happened and all the relevant details," Nath added.

    The LoC is a de facto border between India and Pakistan dividing Kashmir into two parts.
