Chinese premier leaves Egypt for home

    SHARM EL-SHEIKH, Nov. 8 (Xinhua) -- Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao left for home Sunday night after his visit to Egypt and participation to the opening ceremony of the fourth ministerial meeting of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation in the Egyptian Red Sea resort.

    In the opening ceremony, Wen delivered a speech titled Building the New Type of China-Africa Strategic Partnership. In his speech, Wen highly valued the friendship and cooperation with Africa, and put out eight new measures to support Africa to develop.

    Wen also held bilateral meetings with African leaders on the sidelines of the ministerial meeting.

    Before attending the meeting, the premier made a two-day official visit to Egypt and met with Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak and Prime Minister Ahmed Nazef.

    He also visited the headquarters of the Arab League (AL) in Cairo, met with Amr Mussa, head of the AL, and delivered a speech in the AL headquarters, calling the whole world to respect diversity of civilizations.
