BEIJING, Nov. 6 (Xinhua) -- Chinese equities closed higher on Friday.
The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index rose 8.98 points, or 0.28 percent, to close at 3,164.04.
The Shenzhen Component Index climbed 85.50 points, or 0.66 percent, to close at 12,987.20.
Combined turnover expanded to 297.53 billion yuan (43.56 billion U.S. dollars) from 253.96 billion yuan on the previous trading day.
The ChiNext market for start-up stocks, which began trading on Oct. 30, slumped after two days of rebound on Thursday and Wednesday.
