Two U.S. soldiers killed in Iraq

    BAGHDAD, Nov. 5 (Xinhua) -- Two U.S. soldiers were killed in Iraq on Wednesday in separate incidents, the U.S. military said on Thursday.

    An American soldier died from a combat incident, a military statement said without saying where and how the incident took place.

    Another soldier died from injuries resulted from a non-combat incident, another statement said without giving further details.

    The two soldiers were assigned to multinational division-north, also known as Task Force Lightning, which was responsible for an area including the cities of Balad, Tikrit and Samarra in Salahudin province, north of Baghdad, along with the northern cities of Kirkuk and Mosul.

    The names of the deceased are being withheld pending notification of next of kin, the statements added.

    The latest deaths bring the number of U.S. soldiers who have been killed in Iraq to about 4,359, since the breakout of the U.S.-led war on Iraq in 2003, according to media account based on Pentagon figures.
