MACAO, Nov. 3 (Xinhua) -- Chui Sai On, chief executive (CE) elect of Macao Special Administrative Region (SAR), will be officially inaugurated as the SAR's third-term CE next month, the SAR government announced on Tuesday.

Chui won the SAR's top job election in July this year, of which he was the only candidate. The election result was later approved by China's central government which is legally required under the Basic Law, the SAR's mini constitution.

His inauguration will be held on Dec. 20, the day that marks the 10th anniversary of the establishment of Macao SAR. The term for the SAR's CE is five years.

Born in Macao in 1957, Chui has been twice appointed as the SAR's Secretary for Social Affairs and Culture ever since the SAR's establishment in 1999.

Previously, Macao's incumbent CE Ho Hau Wah said that he will assist Chui and his team to organize a new administration and ensure the SAR's smooth transition to new leadership.
