JAKARTA, Oct. 30 (Xinhua) -- Disaster Mitigation Coordination Squad in Indonesia's West Sumatra admitted that aids for survivors of earthquake in the province were misused, the Kompas daily quoted an official as saying on Friday.

A preliminary identification showed that the perpetrators are officials of sub district, village and sub village.

The squad's head Ade Edward on Thursday said that he already pocketed the perpetrators' name.

"However, we can't name them. Now, our focus is how to deliver aids to survivors," Ade said.

According to Ade, the manipulation was occurred mostly on aids of goods.

"There are allegedly officials who sold the aids of rice and instant noodles to markets. The crime was occurred in Padang Pariaman regency and Padang City," said Ade.

To supervise the accountability of the aid distribution, he added, his office is helped by a team from the Corruption Eradication Agency, the Financial Surveillance Agency and police.

A 7.6 magnitude earthquake hit the province on Sept. 30, claiming more than 1,100 lives and damaging thousands of houses and infrastructures.
