MEXICO CITY, Oct. 28 (Xinhua) -- The Rio Group on Wednesday condemned last Sunday's twin suicide bombings in central Baghdad that killed at least 155 people and injured 500 others.

"We reiterate our most absolute and categorical rejection of terrorism in all its forms and manifestations," the group, which comprises Latin American and some Caribbean nations, said in a statement.

The statement also expressed condolences to families of the victims killed in the attack.

The twin bombings, targeted the justice ministry and the offices of the Baghdad provincial government, were the deadliest coordinated attack to hit Iraq in more than two years.

Al-Qaida's umbrella group in Iraq, known as the Islamic State of Iraq, has claimed responsibility for it.
