SANAA, Oct. 27 (Xinhua) -- A Yemeni government spokesman confirmed Tuesday the arrest of five Iranian crew on board an Iranian-flagged vessel laden with weapons and said they were under interrogation.

The Iranian-flagged ship was seized on Monday off the Yemeni coast on the Red Sea, near Medi area in the far northwestern governorate of Hajja, Saba said.
The shipment of mostly anti-tank shells was said to be bound for the rebels in the far north rugged areas bordering Saudi Arabia.
However, Iran has denied the reports that Yemen had seized a ship carrying weapons and Iranian crew, the Iranian official Al-Alam satellite TV Channel reported on Tuesday.
