1,095 A/H1N1 flu cases reported in Turkey

    ANKARA, Oct. 26 (Xinhua) -- Turkish Health Ministry said on Monday that a total of 1,095 A/H1N1 flu cases have been reported in Turkey so far, the semi-official Anatolia news agency reported.

    The ministry said that the first case was seen on May 15, 2009and the first Turk died of A/H1N1 flu in the Turkish capital of Ankara on Saturday.

    Five people were under treatment at hospitals, and one of them was in serious condition and in intensive care unit, added the ministry.

    National Education Ministry stated earlier Monday that all the education institutions --including pre-schools, elementary and secondary schools, private schools, courses and study centers-- across Turkey would be recessed on October 30 to keep students protected against A/H1N1 flu.

    The buildings and gardens of these education institutions will be disinfected starting from October 29 (national holiday as Republic Day) till November 2, said the ministry, adding that all schools were recessed in Ankara this week.
