LAGOS, Oct. 25 (Xinhua) -- Soccer fans in Kaduna have pitched their tent with South Korea and Algeria in Group F of the ongoing FIFA U-17 World Cup. Other teams in the group are Uruguay and Italy.

Patrick Odaudu, a soccer fan, said he was on the side of the Koreans because of their "kind of soccer," according to the News Agency of Nigeria.

He said the Koreans were into "good and entertaining soccer with their fast and accurate passes".

Odaudu said he preferred the Koreans to emerge winners of the group in the centre.

Joseph Kabiri, a civil engineer, preferred the Algerians, saying "since Nigeria is hosting, it should be an African affair all round".

He argued that the "golden opportunity presented to Africa by FIFA cannot be wasted; we must have to justify the hosting of the tournament".

Others also said they wanted either Algeria or South Korea to top the group.

Some, however, tipped Italy because of "the team's superb training and the talents so far showcased."

Janet Aduke, a secondary school student, said she was thrilled by the Italians' training session. "This is a team to beat at this tournament; they have so far exhibited the best soccer credentials on the pitch of training," she said.

Uruguay will meet South Korea, while Algeria face Italy in the first Group F matches on Monday.
