Kuwait's parliament speaker sends condolence to train collision victims in Egypt

    KUWAIT CITY, Oct. 25 (Xinhua) -- Kuwait's Parliament Speaker Jassem Al-Kharafi on Sunday sent a message of condolence to victims of Saturday's train crash in Egypt, the official KUNA news agency reported.

    "I followed with profound grief the news about the catastrophic accident which claimed dozens of innocent lives," Al-Kharafi said in the cable.

    "The accident is painful to all of us," he said, and wished early recovery for the wounded passengers in the mishap.

    At least 22 people were killed and 42 others injured when a passenger train ploughed into another from behind on Saturday near a town south of the capital city of Cairo.

    Investigation into the cause of the tragedy is still underway.
