ISLAMABAD, Oct. 25 (Xinhua) -- Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan, who arrived here late Saturday night, was warmly received by his Pakistani counterpart Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani Sunday at the PM house.

A red carpet was rolled out and national anthems of the two countries were played as the green and red flags of the two countries, both carrying the crescent and the star, fluttered with the beautiful Margalla hills in the backdrop.

Erdogan reviewed the guard of honor and was presented a salute by a contingent comprising the three services.

Gilani introduced his cabinet to the Turkish prime minister, who is leading a large delegation of CEOs of private companies and members of his entourage for a three-day visit. Erdogan also introduced members of his delegation.

The two leaders later went in for exclusive and delegation level talks.

On arrival in Islamabad Saturday night, Erdogan was received at the airport by Pakistani Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi.

Edogan's last visit to Pakistan was in October 2005, following the devastating earthquake in the country's northwest.

The Turkish prime minister will call on Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardari and meet the Senate chairman and the speaker of the National Assembly, the lower house of the parliament.

The two prime ministers will also address a joint session of the parliament, specially convened for Monday.
