JINAN, East China, Oct. 24 (Xinhua) -- Mixed doubles tennis players Peng Shuai and Li Zhe from Tianjin upset their rivals 2-1 Saturday and advanced to the final at the 11th Chinese National Games.

Peng/Li, the top seed in the mixed event, lost to Shanghai's BaiYan and Zhou Yimiao 7-6 in the first set, but downed them 6-3 and 6-2 to seal the victory.

"It was a tough match. I thought we would have lost the game, but we kept on encouraging each other," Peng said.

"The National Games are held once in four years, and I will never give up," she said.

Peng takes part in all the three events -- singles, doubles and mixed doubles -- in the tournament.

"I feel tired and a lot of pressure, but I will try my best in the rest of the matches," the 23-year-old Peng said.

Peng led the Tianjin team to win a gold medal in the team's event, which was held earlier in July.

Peng/Li will take on Beijing's Yu Xinyuan/Liu Wanting in the final on Sunday. Peng will team up with Xu Yifan to take on Sun Shengnan and Lu Jingjing from the Chinese Army in the women's doubles semifinals Sunday.
