ANTANANARIVO, Oct. 24 (Xinhua) -- Twenty-six new cases of A/H1N1 influenza were confirmed in Madagascar on Friday, said a senior government official.
The flu "arrives in the slum," said Dr. Rolland Robinson, director of emergency department and struggles against the disease.
More and more patients come from the slums, " a situation that we consider and follow closely," he said.
In total, 233 cases of A/H1N1 influenza are registered in the island country, most of which are listed in the capital, he told reporters.
But the stock of the anti-flu drug Tamiflu is sufficient, Robinson, adding, "We control the situation because all patients have been treated without a death reported."
