KABUL, Oct. 24 (Xinhua) -- In efforts to maintain good governance and development in post-Taliban Afghanistan and marking United Nations Day, Afghan official and UN representatives would launched UN Development Assistance Framework (UNDAF) on Saturday, said a statement of UN Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA) Saturday.

    "The key documents which plan out 4 billion U.S. dollars of developing assistance from 2010 to 2013 was prepared by 28 UN agencies in cooperation with the government of Afghanistan," the statement added.

    The statement also said that UNDAF supports the Afghan National Development Strategy and focuses on three priority areas of governance, peace and stability.

    UNDAF would emphasize on Human Resources Development/Capacity development, health and education, agriculture and Access to Income, which targets rural communities and aims at building marketable skills through vocational training programmes, it added.

    UN has been in Afghanistan for more than 50 years, and since 2002 UNAMA has led and coordinated the UN family and worked closely with government of Afghanistan, according to the statement.
