JAKARTA, Oct. 24 (Xinhua) -- Indonesian President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono and Japanese Prime Minister Yukio Hatoyama planned to hold a meeting on the sidelines of the ASEAN+3 Summit in Thailand on Saturday, according to a local media report.

Indonesian presidential spokesman Dino Patti Djalal was quoted by Antara news agency as saying that the two leaders would discuss how to boost cooperation of the two countries and Japan's involvement in reconstruction and rehabilitation efforts at the quake-affected areas in West Sumatra of Indonesia.

"They will also discuss multilateralization of the Chiang Mai Initiative," Dino was quoted as saying.

Japanese Ambassador to Indonesia Kojiro Shiojiri said Indonesia was important to Japan as a participant in the Group of 20, which is set to become the dominant global economic forum, the report said.

"I do not agree if Indonesia is called a developing country, because democracy has been created there. The country also keeps making efforts to eradicate corruption and has a strong desire to change," he was quoted as saying.
