PYONGYANG, Oct. 23 (Xinhua) -- New kinds of artificial fiber organs and instruments for medical treatment have been developed and widely used in the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK), the official KCNA news agency said on Friday.

Among them were an artificial blood vessel, an artificial cross-type knee joint ligament, a knitted insulator and a pressure bandage developed by the Textile Research Institute of the State Academy of Sciences, the KCNA said.

They contain no toxic substance and have no side effects, and never decay in the body, it added.
