NEW DELHI, Oct. 23 (Xinhua) -- A huge water pipeline carrying water to the city came crashing down on a running train in northeast Mumbai Friday, killing the driver and a commuter and injuring 12 others, reported the Indo-Asian News Service.
The pipeline collapsed along with a bridge being built to support it at a stretch between Mulund and Thane, two satellite towns of Mumbai, said the report quoting officials of the Central Railway and Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai.
A rescue and relief team of the railways and fire brigade were engaged in clearing the debris from the railway tracks, while the authorities have also closed the water supply from the pipeline, said the report.
Meanwhile, the accident forced railways to suspend all suburban services on all the lines till the tracks are cleared, said the report.
