7 killed in eastern Pakistan suicide bombing

    ISLAMABAD, Oct. 23 (Xinhua) -- At least seven persons were killed and 12 others were wounded Friday morning in a car bombing at a security check post in the Attock district in the eastern Pakistani province of Punjab, according to local TV reports.

    The private Express TV quoted Attock police chief Fakhar Sultanas saying that a suicide bomber blew himself near the Kamra Aeronautical Complex at the G.T. Road in Attock.

    Sultan confirmed that at least two security officials were among the killed. The injured were rushed to the nearby hospital.

    Police have cordoned off the area and about eight to ten people were arrested in the search operation after the attack.
