SHANGHAI, Oct. 22 (Xinhua) -- A French national plunged to death early Thursday in east China's Shanghai City, local police said.

    The man, 34, was found dead in Shatianhuayuan Community on Anyuan Road at around 5 a.m.. A local resident told police that he heard a muffled thud at around 2 a.m..

    Initial investigation showed that the man, who worked in Shanghai for a Hong Kong company, had fallen from height and no suspicion was found at the scene.

    No other details were immediately available.

    Local residents said the man moved in five years ago and lived on the eighth floor.
