KABUL, Oct. 22 (Xinhua) -- Afghan forces have arrested over three dozen suspected militants across the country, a press release of Defense Ministry said here Thursday.

    "Over the past 24 hours, the troops have detained 39 suspected persons from different provinces and handed them over to concerned authorities for investigation," the short press release added.

    It did not give more details.

    Afghan forces and the NATO-led peacekeeping force ISAF (International Security Assistance Force) have speed up military operations against Taliban militants since early this year.
