SEOUL, Oct. 21 (Xinhua) -- South Korean marathoner Lee Bong-ju put his 20-year career in an end after winning a national meet in Daejeon on Wednesday.
The 39-year-old took silver at the 1996 Atlanta Olympics with just three seconds more than South Africa's Josia Thugwane, which marked the closest finish to an Olympic marathon.
The South Korean record holder also won the Boston Marathon in 2001 and Asian Games gold in 1998 and 2002.
