HONG KONG, Oct. 20 (Xinhua) -- A 27-year-old man who tested positive for Influenza A/H1N1 died in Hong Kong on Tuesday, bringing the total number of A/H1N1-related deaths to 32 in the city, the local Hospital Authority announced.
According to the Hospital Authority, the patient with a history of intravenous astrocytoma, hydrocephalus, epilepsy and hypothyroidism was admitted to the medical ward via the Accident and Emergency Department of Queen Elizabeth Hospital on September 28.
The spokesperson of Queen Elizabeth Hospital said the patient was confirmed as Influenza A/H1N1 positive on Oct. 2, and transferred to the Intensive Care Unit for further treatment with mechanical ventilator support. The patient was certified dead on Tuesday morning.
The case has been reported to the Hospital Authority Head Office and Center for Health Protection.
