KATHMANDU, Oct. 20 (Xinhua) -- The central committee meeting of Nepal's main opposition party the Unified Communist Party of Nepal(Maoist) (UCPN-M) on Tuesday reviewed the China trip of party chairman Prachanda and other senior leaders, saying it was successful.
The UCPN-M on Tuesday morning held the central committee meeting at the party headquarters at Koteshwor in Nepali capital Kathmandu.
Chairman Prachanda returned from his week-long visit to China on Monday.
After concluding the meeting, party spokesperson Dina Nath Sharma said to media persons that China wants to see establishment of permanent peace and development in Nepal when quoting Prachandaas saying while briefing party leaders at the central committee meeting.
Prachanda also informed his party colleagues about his meetings with the Chinese leaders and the major achievements of the week-long China visit.
The meeting also decided to begin talks with other parties to end the present political standstill, according to Sharma.
Spokesperson Sharma said attempts for consensus and coordination would continue in a tea party organized by the party on Tuesday.
