JINAN, East China, Oct. 20 (Xinhua) -- Strongwoman Zhou Lulu broke snatch world record of weightlifting in the over 75kg division at the 11th Chinese National Games here Tuesday.

    Zhou from Chinese Army delegation snatched 145kg in her second attempt, five kilos more than the world record of 140kg, set by Jang Mi-ran of South Korea in the Beijing Olympics in 2008.

    The 21-year-old Zhou raised the weight to 148kg, eight kilos more than the world record, and she made it with strong will, taking the lead before the jerk.

    However, her performance will not be written in the world record books because the governing body, the International Weightlifting Federation, only recognizes records set in world, continental and Olympic competitions.
