LAGOS, Oct. 16 (Xinhua) -- Twenty three of the 32 teams expected to participate in next year's FIFA World Cup finals in South Africa have emerged.
Apart from hosts South Africa, the remaining 22 emerged from the ongoing qualifiers in the various FIFA zones.
Europe tops the list with nine after Wednesday's qualifying matches.
The teams which have emerged from Europe are: Denmark, Germany, Spain, England, Serbia, Italy, Netherlands, Switzerland and Slovakia.
The four remaining tickets for Europe will be fixed on Nov. 14 and Nov. 18 after the play-offs involving the best eight runners-up in each group.
The draws for the play-offs will be made on Oct. 19 in Zurich.
Ghana and Cote d'Ivoire are the only African countries through to the championship now.
The other three places from Africa will be decided on Nov. 14.Cameroon, Gabon, Togo and Morocco are in Group A. Morocco will be home to Cameroon while Gabon will take on Togo in the ties to decide the sole ticket from the group.
The second ticket from Africa will be decided in Maputo and Nairobi, where Mozambique host Tunisia, while Nigeria face Kenya in Nairobi.
Egypt will be home to Algeria, while Rwanda will entertain Zambia for the third African ticket to complete the continent's five slots.
Australia, Japan, South Korea and DPR Korea are through from Asia and Oceania.
Bahrain and New Zealand will fight for the fifth slot from their play-off in the zone on Nov. 14.
The United States, Mexico and Honduras are through from the CONCACAF region, as Costa Rica will face Uruguay, which finished fifth in the South American zone.
Uruguay placed fifth behind Brazil, Paraguay, Chile and Argentina, in the South American qualifiers.
The two-leg Costa Rica v Uruguay clash has been fixed for Nov. 14 and Nov. 18.
