MEXICO CITY, Oct. 15 (Xinhua) -- Spain has agreed to help train10,000 Mexican police officers as part of the deals reached at the Mexico-Spain Commission Meeting.
Mexican police officers will travel to Spain and Spanish instructors will also visit Mexico, Mexico's vice Foreign Minister Lourdes Aranda said Thursday at a joint press conference with Spain's Secretary of State for Ibero-America, Juan Pablo de Laglesia.
The two countries also signed two memorandums of understanding that covered energy, farming, fishing and rural development, and an agreement on air transport cooperation.
In addition, they agreed to set up a working group to tackle organized crime, terrorism, drug trafficking, human smuggling, money laundering and child pornography.
The Wednesday-Thursday meeting brought together top officials of both sides in three working groups -- economy and finance; legal and consular affairs; and education, culture, science and technology. Their next meeting is slated for Dec. 21 in Mexico.
