KATHMANDU, Oct. 16 (Xinhua) -- The World Poverty Reduction Day is being marked on 16-18 October in Nepal.
The UN Millennium Campaign has set the three-day campaign with the slogan, "Commit to Poverty Reduction for Durable Peace" this year.
On the occasion, Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal has given a message that "we could achieve the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) if we work in a creative manner regarding the challenges and problems as food crisis, epidemic, recession, and climate change."
The Prime Minister pointed out the need of policy and programs with common understanding citing the rest 6 years to 2015, the final year of the MDGs.
He made it clear that the policies and program Nepal government brought for this fiscal year makes it clear that Nepal is committed to eradicate poverty, achieving the millennium goals.
