MONTEVIDEO, Oct. 15 (Xinhua) -- Uruguay's industrial production would continue to recover in 2009 and withstand the impact of the global economic crisis, Uruguay's Chamber of Industry (CIU) announced Thursday.

The CIU said in a report its forecast was based on the Advance Indicator of the Industrial Production (IAPI), which predicts the behavior of the industrial sector in coming three months.

Industrial production has enjoyed a rise in eight consecutive months. According to the CIU, the IAPI registered in October would see a 0.9 percent increase compared with September.

"It can be forecast with a high degree of certainty that the production will continue growing at least till the end of 2009," the CIU said.

The CIU's economy advisor Sebastian Perez said the increase of the industrial production was "solid" because all indices showed arise.

According to Uruguay's National Institute of Statistics, industrial production ended its downtrend in August this year. Gross Domestic Product(GDP) enjoyed a growth of 0.5 percent in the second quarter.
