MEXICO CITY, Oct. 14 (Xinhua) -- Mexican wrestler Mistico will travel to Japan in November to defend his International Wrestling Gran Prix (IWGP) Junior title against Tiger Mask, his representatives said on Thursday.

Mistico, a masked wrestler who keeps his real name a secret, won the title during an August tour of Japan. He defended the title earlier this year in a match in Puebla against fellow Mexican Jushin Liger.

Mistico's latest defense will take place on Nov. 8 as part of an event called Destruction 2009. During the same event, the holder of the senior IWGP title, Shinsuke Nakamura, will defend his belt against challenger Hiroshi Tanahashi, a previous title-holder whom Nakamura injured in a previous title bout.

Mexico's masked wrestlers are straddling the line between sport and theater drawing many thousands of fans to matches that many believe are staged and include non-sporting elements for entertainment purposes.

In this world Mistico is one of the wrestlers who follow the rules, known as "scientificos".
