Tibet reports higher tourism revenue during National Day holiday

    LHASA, Oct.10 (Xinhua) -- Tourism authority in southwest China's Tibet Autonomous Region said Saturday the plateau region hosted 295,400 domestic and overseas tourists during the past 8-day National Day holiday season.

    That represented a rise of 14.96 percent from the same period last year, said a spokesman for the Tibet Autonomous Regional Tourism Department.

    The autonomous region raked in more than 110 million yuan (about 16.18 million U.S. dollars) in tourism revenue from Oct.1 to 8, up 36.27 percent year-on-year, said the spokesman.

    This year's National Day holiday season, the longest ever, started on Oct. 1. It included the Mid-Autumn Festival, also known as the Mid-Autumn Festival, which fell on Oct.3.

    Tibet hosted more than 4.09 million domestic and overseas tourists in the first eight months of this year, up 248.1 percent.

Tibet's tourism industry earns 111.05 mln yuan during National Day holiday

    BEIJING, Oct. 9 (Xinhuanet) -- During the National Day holiday from Oct. 1 to 8, the Tibet Autonomous Region earned from its tourism industry 111.05 million yuan RMB (about 16.27 million U.S. dollars), up 36.27 percent from the previous National Day. 

Tibet's Nyingchi to earn 800 mln yuan from tourism industry in 2009 

    BEIJING, Oct. 10 (Xinhuanet) -- Nyingchi Prefecture in southeastern Tibet is expected to have received 1.2 million tourists and earned over 800 million yuan (117.19 million U.S. dollars) in 2009.

Tibet receives 110,000 tourists in first 3 days of holiday

    BEIJING, Oct. 5 (Xinhuanet) -- Tibet received 109,509 domestic and foreign tourists in the first three days of the National Day holiday, which started on Oct. 1, according to the Tourism Bureau of Tibet Autonomous Region.
