BAGHDAD, Oct. 8 (Xinhua) -- A bomb explosion at a barber shop in a town south of Baghdad killed three people on Thursday and wounded 10 others, a well-informed police source said.

"An explosive charge left at the door of a barber shop in the town of Yousifiyah, some 20 km south of Baghdad, detonated before sunset, killing three people and wounding ten others," the source told Xinhua on condition of anonymity.

The blast destroyed the shop and caused severe damages to nearby shops and buildings, the source said.

Iraqi security forces sealed off the scene and immediately started an investigation, he added.

Sporadic attacks continue in Iraq as part of recent deterioration in security which shaped a setback to the efforts ofthe Iraqi government to restore normalcy in the country after morethan three months of U.S. troops pullout of Iraqi cities and towns.
