CANBERRA, Oct. 8 (Xinhua) -- Gael Monfils, James Blake and Ana Ivanovic will take part in the Brisbane ATP/WTA International tournament in January ahead of the Australian Open, the organizers said on Thursday.

    Frenchman Monfils, ranked 13, will be joined by American Blake, currently ranked No. 24 in the world.

    Former French Open champion Ivanovic, of Serbia, is ranked at 11 after reaching the world number one spot in June 2008 following her performance at the Paris Grand Slam tournament.

    Other players who have confirmed their participation include Andy Roddick and Kim Clijsters.

    The Brisbane International will be held from January 3-10, a warm-up for the Australian Open, the first of the yearly four Grand Slam tournmaments in Melbourne.
