ISLAMABAD, Oct. 7 (Xinhua) -- The bodies of six eminent Taliban commanders were found along borders of Hangu district and Kurram tribal agency in northwest Pakistan, police said on Wednesday.
According to Station House Officer (SHO) Dooaba Mir Zali, the dead bodies of these Taliban commanders were found in the area of Karat.
Explosive materials were attached also with their dead bodies. The explosives were meant to detonate on lifting the bodies, he added.
He said that the investigation was underway to gather further information, however he expressed ignorance as who killed these Taliban commanders.
The SHO said that the Bomb Disposal Squad would defuse explosives materials attached to dead bodies.
Meanwhile, the security forces claimed to have killed the chief Taliban commander Nisar alias Ghazi during clashes in the Matta tehsil of Swat on Wednesday.
The government had placed 10 million rupees (about 125,000 U.S. dollars) his head money who was reportedly expert in making bombs, sources said.
According to the security forces, forces and Taliban militants clashed Wednesday morning in tehsil Matta which killed chief Taliban commander Nisar whose dead body has been recovered.
He was also the member of Shura of Swat Taliban and was close aide of its chief Maulana Fazlullah, sources claimed.
Security forces termed killing of Nisar as a big success and a hard blow to Taliban tehrik in Pakistan, sources added.
In Charbagh area, the security forces have nabbed 10 militants and pounded militants' three suspected houses, sources concluded.
Nearly 2,000 militants have been killed since Pakistani security forces launched the military operation against Taliban militants late April after militants in early April entered the Buner district from the neighboring Swat district and refused to vacate the area despite their pledge to do so.
