BANGKOK, Oct. 6 (Xinhua) -- Thai weekly cabinet meeting on Tuesday agreed to impose the Internal Security Act (ISA) in southern resort towns of Cha-am and Hua Hin, which will host the 15th ASEAN Summit on Oct. 23-25.
Thailand, which is holding the 2009 chairmanship of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), will put in place the ISA from Oct. 12 to Oct. 27, according to Thai News Agency.
The ISA law will be imposed in five sub-districts of Cha-am and four sub-districts in Hua Hin.
The cabinet also approved a budget of about 296 million baht (8.85 million U.S. dollars) to finance security measures to ensure security at the Summit's venues, Thai language news agency INN reported.
A combined security force will be deployed to ensure law and order there, army chief General Anupong Paochinda said Friday.
