KABUL, Oct. 5 (Xinhua) -- Unknown kidnappers shot dead a businessman and his two body guards in Afghan capital Kabul Monday, a private television channel reported Monday.

"A group of armed men attempted to kidnap businessman Hajji Mohammad Nasir in Kabul Monday morning but he resisted. The kidnappers killed him and his two bodyguards and made their good escape," Tolo reported in its bulletin.

Driver of the businessman was also injured in the incident, the report added.

This is the second incident of its nature in the Afghan capital over the past two days. The kidnappers abducted Hajji Faridon, the owner of a famous hotel in Kabul on Sunday evening.

Attack on businessmen and kidnapping for ransom has negatively affected the process of investment and has forced many people to shift their business to neighboring countries.
