KABUL, Oct. 5 (Xinhua) -- Police chief of Kamdish district in Nuristan province east of Afghanistan have gone missing with his 13 police constables after Taliban attack on the district Saturday night, a local newspaper reported Monday.
Daily 8 Subh quoted provincial governor Jamaludin Badar as saying that contact with the district police chief Sham Rahman had been lost since Saturday.
The official added that Taliban militants possibly had abducted them.
However, Badr rejected Taliban's claim of taking over Kamdish district in the province, saying Kamdish is still in control of government
Taliban fighters on Saturday night raided Kamdish district and took away a number of policemen after killing eight U.S. soldiers and two service members of Afghan National Security Force.
