LOS ANGELES, Oct. 4 (Xinhua) -- Sony reaped a bumper harvest with two of its latest films grabbed a one-two placing in North American box office, with horror comedy "Zombieland" opened at the top with a 25 million dollars take this weekend.
Starring Woody Harrelson and Jesse Eisenberg, "Zombieland" focuses on two men who have found a way to survive a world overrun by zombies, becoming the sixth number one debut this year from Sony/Columbia.

When it debuted in Canadian and American theaters Friday, "Zombieland" fetched an estimated 9.4 million dollars in ticket sales, according to preliminary estimates released by North American box office authorities. Combined with that arising from three days over the weekend, the flick dominated the chart with strong lead.
Another production from Sony, "Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs," a 3-D cartoon kept its second-place spot for another week, with an expected 16.7 million dollars haul this weekend. In the three-week run, the picture has grossed 82.4 million dollars in ticket sales.
A double-feature release of 3-D version from Disney, "Toy Story/Toy Story 2" debuted in the third slot with 12.5 million dollars in 1,745 3D screens across North America. And the Ricky Gervais comedy "The Invention of Lying" opened with 7.4 million dollars for Warner Bros., ranking fourth.
"Surrogates," a rare adult movie release from Disney, is expected to bring in 7.3 million dollars, for a total of 26.4 million dollars during its two-week run.
