JAKARTA, Oct. 2 (Xinhua) -- Speaking on behalf of Chinese people, the Chinese Ambassador to Indonesia Zhang Qiyue extended the deepest condolences to the victims of the devastating earthquake in West Sumatra province, the Metro TV reported here on Friday.

    The ambassador said the Chinese Embassy would provide disaster-relief aid worth 500,000 U.S. dollars, when addressing the celebration of the 60th anniversary of Chinese Republic of China in Jakarta on Thursday night.
