     BEIJING, Sept. 27 (Xinhua) -- Aviation Industry Corporation of China (AVIC), the country's top aircraft manufacturer, said Sunday total sales revenue in its auto business would reach 30 billion yuan (about 4.39 billion U.S. dollars) by 2017.

    Geng Ruguang, deputy general manager of AVIC, said making big passenger vehicles has become the the corporations's guiding plan for development in its auto business.

    Geng revealed the figure at a ceremony marking AVIC and its partner Volvol's new product Silver 900 series going into production line.

    The series is a new type of big and luxurious passenger vehicles, 12 meters long, which could be used for road transportation, tourist reception, and military equipment.

    The Silver 900 series was developed by Xi'an Silver Bus Corporation, a joint venture established in 1994 by AVIC Xi'an Aircraft Industry Co. ltd, and the Swedish bus and truck maker Volvo company.

    The Xi'an Silver Bus Corporation expects to produce annually 4,000 vehicles by 2014.

China may lead global aviation recovery

    BEIJING, Sept. 17 -- China is expected to lead the global aviation recovery thanks to its dynamic domestic air travel, senior executives from Boeing said Wednesday.

    The country will require 3,770 new airplanes valued at 400 billion U.S.dollars over the next 20 years and will remain the world's largest commercial airplane market outside the United States, said Randy Tinseth, Boeing Commercial Airplanes' vice-president for marketing. Full story

    BEIJING, Sept. 23 (Xinhua) -- China encourages and welcomes foreign companies to participate in its large jet program, said Vice Premier Zhang Dejiang Wednesday.

    Zhang made the remarks while meeting with Jean-Paul Herteman, Chief Executive Officer of Safran group, a French high-tech company with a leading position in aerospace, defense and security. Full story


Airbus' A320 to get China-made wings next year 

    BEIJING, Sept. 23 (Xinhua) -- China's Xi'an Aircraft Industry (XAC) will deliver the first set of fully equipped wings to Airbus' A320 aircraft final assembly line in north China's Tianjinin the first quarter of next year, China Daily reported Wednesday.

    The wing equipping work will start next month in Tianjin at a site close to the final assembly line, the newspaper said, citing Laurence Barron, president of Airbus China. Full story

China's aivation market to expand 7.9% annually in 20 years

    BEIJING, Sept. 20 (Xinhua) -- Airbus SAS, the world's largest maker of commercial aircraft, said in a report that China's aviation market will see an annual increase of 7.9 percent in the next 20 years, following India to become the world's second fastest growing market.

    India's aviation market is forecast to have a 10 percent growth annually over the next two decades, according to the report. Full story

Tests bring made-in-China regional jet closer to int'l market

   SHANGHAI, Sept. 12 (Xinhua) -- The third China-made advanced regional jet carried out its maiden flight here on Sunday, bringing the ARJ21 model one step closer to secure airworthiness qualifications from home and abroad.

    The trial flight of the ARJ21-700 at an altitude of 3,000 meters and a speed equivalent to 318 kilometers per hour began at 1:21 p.m. and lasted 56 minutes. Full story

First made-in-China regional jet makes longest trial flight
 
    XI'AN, July 15 (Xinhua) -- China's first domestically-developed regional ARJ21-700 jet made its longest trial flight of 1,300 kilometers in about two hours from Shanghai to Xi'an, capital of northwestern China's Shaanxi Province, Wednesday.

    The jet moved from its production site in Shanghai to Xi'an-based Chinese Flight Tests Establishment (CFTE) of the Aviation Industry Corporation of China (AVIC), the country's only institute qualified to issue flight certificates for military aircraft, helicopters, aircraft engines or other aircraft equipment. Airbus delivers 1st China-assembled A320 jet

    TIANJIN, June 23 (Xinhua) -- Airbus delivered its first China-assembled A320 jet on Tuesday in the northern port city of Tianjin, the base of the manufacturer's only final assembly line outside Europe.

    The plane was delivered to Beijing-based Dragon Aviation Leasing, which will lease it to Sichuan Airlines. The plane will first fly on the Chengdu-Beijing route Wednesday. Full story

First China-assembled A320 test flight successful 

   TIANJIN, May 18 (Xinhua) -- After four hours' flight, the first China-assembled Airbus A320 aircraft landed smoothly at Tianjin Binhai International Airport at 2:56 p.m. Monday, a symbol of successful test flight.

    The aircraft will be delivered to Dragon Aviation Leasing in June from the Airbus Delivery Center in Tianjin and will be operated by Sichuan Airlines. Full story
