UNITED NATIONS, Sept. 23 (Xinhua) -- Tabare Vazquez, president of Uruguay, said here Wednesday that globalization should be confined to the field of economy, but should be expanded to the field of peace, freedom and justice.
Vazquez, while addressing the general debate of the General Assembly, said, "In these times of globalization, it is not only the economy that has to be globalized. Peace, freedom, democracy, justice, dignity and the welfare of the people must be globalized as well."
"The countries represented here, each one according to its respective identity, are working towards this end," he added.
