KUALA LUMPUR, Sept. 22 (Xinhua) -- Majid Ahmad Khan, president of
Malaysia-China Friendship Association (MCFA), said here Tuesday that he hoped
the relation between Malaysia and China would be deepened and offered his
congratulations on China's 60th anniversary.
Majid Ahmad Khan, also former Malaysian ambassador to China, said, in an
interview with Xinhua, that 60 years was short compared with the history of the
nation, but a lot of achievements had been made in this period, of which the
Chinese government and the people should be proud.
He said China had achieved a lot of development, such as raising the living
standard for the people, especially over the last ten years.
Besides, China has been playing an important role in maintaining regional
and world's peace.
"I hope, for many years to come, the Malaysia-China relation will go
stronger and stronger, particularly in economic relations and diplomacy, as well
as in our regional understanding," he said.
"I would like to take this opportunity to convey, on behalf of our
association, the heartiest congratulations to the people and government of China
for the excellent achievements," he said.
