MEXICO CITY, Sept. 16 (Xinhua) -- Performers from France, Colombia and
Mexico will star in the fourth edition of Theater Nights, a Mexico City cultural
festival, which runs from Wednesday until Oct. 26.
Among the plays to be closely watched are French director Jean-Frederic
Chevalier's "A breaking down and a multiplication of tissue," Colombian director
Victor Vivescas's "Heteroglosias," and "Police-Machine" by Joseph Danan, another
French director, the Mexican National Arts and Culture Council said in a
statement on Wednesday.
Mexico will be represented by director Ruben Ortiz with his work "what else
to talk about," which focuses on the victims of the nation's drug-linked crimes.
During the festival, the directors will host master classes in which they
will discuss the new direction that theater has taken since the start of the
decade.
"With these functions, the audience can learn a bit about the new stage
proposals which aim to open up a new concept of montage and the communication
between actor, director and the public," said the National Arts and Culture
Council.
