SAN SALVADOR, Sept. 8 (Xinhua) -- Health Vigilance director from El Salvador, Julio Armero reported on Tuesday a total of 2,117 dengue cases in the country, 357 new cases since the last report last week.
In comparison with the figures in 2008, the infection cases in the country rose in 1,200 more cases.
Also the hemorrhagic dengue incidence increased, but in lower proportion. At the moment the number of hemorrhagic cases is 37, and the death for dengue is three.
According to the epidemic report, most of the dengue patients were from San Salvador, Sonsonate and Cuscatlan.
"We have to strengthen the control measures," Amero said and called on the people not to sled medicate and to attend the health centers when having the first symptoms.
Dengue presents high fivers.
