BOGOTA, Sept. 4 (xinhua) -- The Colombian Coastguard seized some 1.9 tons
of cocaine buried underground near the northern Morrosquillo Gulf on Friday,
authorities said.
The Coastguard found the cocaine packaged in 86 bags, with each containing
23 kg, after receiving a tip from the Administrative Department of Security.
The Coastguard also confiscated some weapons on the spot.
The drug, which reportedly belonged to a local drug-trafficking band, had a
value of 60 million U.S. dollars on the black market.
The Colombian Navy seized about 3.5 tons of cocaine last week.
Colombia is believed to be the largest producer and second exporter of
cocaine in the world.
