HAVANA, Sept. 3 (Xinhua) -- The Cuban press on
Thursday stressed the meeting between Cuban leader Raul Castro and visiting
Chinese top legislator Wu Bangguo, who finished his visit on Thursday.
Official daily "Granma" published in its front page a
picture showing Castro was shaking hands with Wu, chairman of the Standing
Committee of the Chinese National People's Congress.
The daily said Castro and Wu discussed the excellent
bilateral ties which are at their best historical moments.
Granma also mentioned that Wu hailed Cuba's foreign
policy.
Local daily "Juventud Rebelde" said "Cuba and China
will continue picking up success."
The paper also talked about a newly signed agreement
on bilateral cooperation and a donation to Cuba.
Wu left Thursday for Bahamas after a three-day visit
to Cuba. He will also visit the United States.
