VIENTIANE, Sept. 1 (Xinhua) -- Choummaly Saygnasone,
general secretary of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party Central Committee and
president of the Lao People's Democratic Republic, met with a Communist Party of
China (CPC) delegation here on Tuesday.
The Chinese delegation is headed by He Yong, member
of the Secretariat of the CPC Central Committee and deputy secretary of CPC
Central Commission for Discipline Inspection.
During the meeting, Choummaly
said Laos and China share common visions and goals. It serves the common
interests of the two sides to continuously consolidate and strengthen the
bilateral good-neighborly and friendly cooperative relations.
Choummaly said the two countries have seen frequent
exchanges of high-level visits and enhanced political mutual trust. The economic
and trade cooperation have been deepened and expanded. China's investment in
Laos has made important contribution to the Lao economic development.

Choummaly said Laos will continue to support the
development of bilateral comprehensive cooperation, so as to bring more benefits
to the friendly cooperation of the two parties and the two countries in all
fields.
For his part, He Yong said China and Laos have scored
progress in recent years in bilateral relations featuring long-term stability,
good-neighborly friendship, mutual trust and comprehensive cooperation.
He said China is willing to work together with Laos
to explore new cooperation areas of the two parties and the two countries, and
diversify the forms and contents of the bilateral friendly cooperation.
He said the Chinese party and government are always
committed to supporting Lao's development and the cause of building socialist
country.
He conveyed the greetings and best wishes from Hu
Jintao, General Secretary of the CPC Central Committee and Chinese President to
Choummaly.
Choummaly asked He to pass his best wishes to Hu. The
party chief congratulated China on the 60th anniversary of the founding of the
People's Republic of China which is to fall on Oct. 1. Choummaly said he
believed Chinese people will make even greater achievements under the leadership
of the CPC.
He arrived in Vietnam on Sunday at the invitation of
the Lao People's Revolutionary Party.
