JAKARTA, Aug. 31 (Xinhua) -- Two Indonesian women from East Java have died
of A/H1N1 flu, putting the total fatality of the A/H1N1 virus to eight in the
country, the Health Ministry said here Monday.
Director General of Disease Control and Environmental Health of the
ministry Prof. Dr. Tjandra Yoga Aditama said the two died last week.
"The two persons died with suffering pneumonia and their laboratory tests
showed they were positive of H1N1," Yoga told Xinhua over phone.
But, he declined to elaborate the ages of the persons.
He said that the total cases rose to 1,055 after the ministry confirmed 22
people newly infected by the A/H1N1 virus.
The director said that the virus, which has fatality rate of 0.4 percent,
had spread to more than a half of the country's territory.
