Fluminense head coach gets angry over striker Fred

    RIO DE JANEIRO, Aug. 28 (Xinhua) -- Renato Gaucho, the head coach of the Fluminense soccer team, on Friday got angry over injured striker, Fred, who had been sidelined with a strained groin but lost contact with the club.

    "He has not called or even attempted to get in touch with me tolet me know how he is doing," said Gaucho.

    After his injury on July 23, Fred traveled to Belo Horizonte to receive treatment from some of the medical staff at the Cruzeiro soccer club. His actions have caused a certain amount of tension and hurt feelings with the Fluminense soccer club.

    The coordinator of soccer at Fluminense expects Fred to return to the team in their special group activity in the city of Itu. The team will travel to Itu in order to get away from the pressure and criticism of the media and fans.

    Gaucho returned to coach Fluminense in order to help get them out of danger of being sent into the second division. he expressed the hope that in Itu, the team would regain their focus and reinforce their physical conditioning for the remainder of the Brazilian Championship.

    Currently, Fluminense were at the bottom of the standings with 16 points.
